homeschooling

We homeschool our 3 children and always have. For us it works so well!

We love to be able to not only follow the curriculum but also work on what current interest our children have and we find it allows them to absorb the information and understand better as they already hold that interest for the information of that particular subject.

Allowing them to have a certain amount of free choice helps them to chose different things that schools wouldn't include. For example, our eldest daughter is currently learning to speak Japanese and Spanish and our other daughter is learning Italian and Russian. These languages are not normally an option in schools.

I believe life skills are so important so a lot of prepping, cooking and baking is included in our weekly schedule. They help us with planting, maintaining and harvesting our allotment, not only to learn where our food comes from but to have some appreciation also.
